Report from Doc and First Day Back to Work

The doc was pleased with my progress at my recent follow-up appointment. The leg and foot numbness that I had for so long, is now gone. The only minor issue is that my incision isn’t healing properly. Fortunately, there’s no infection. I was given cleaning instructions to follow 2-3 times per day, then I have a follow-up appointment in a week.

I have a little pain in my back from the procedure, but that will go away soon enough. Occasionally, I have pain in my left leg because the nerves are healing. The doc said that this is normal and the nerve pain is the last to fade away.

The next step in the recovery process is physical rehab. I will start this soon at work.

I started back at work yesterday and learned quickly that just because I’m feeling better at home, it doesn’t mean that I am fully recovered. I was able to work a few hours then I had to go home. My back couldn’t handle sitting upright. So, I adjusted my schedule this week to 8am-10am every day. This gets me out of the house and at least stay on top of things at work. Soon enough, I’ll be back in the swing of things.
