Living for Likes

I’ve been blogging here for almost a decade, and lately, I find myself desiring to say less. I go through phases in which I post everything and phases in which I post very little. I’m less active on social media than I have been in the last several years too, and while I enjoy many aspects of it, I also enjoy my day-to-day life with my family and friends. It seems that I care less about the number of likes or comments I get on Facebook and/or Instagram than I used to. I still enjoy connecting with the friends I made through those mediums, but I’m learning that it’s okay to talk less. When we live for likes, we die by the absence of them, and I never want to give something so silly so much control over my life. Living Offended

It’s embarrassing to think about how long I lived my life looking for reasons to be offended, but that was my way of life for a long time. There are people walking around on this earth who can’t stand me. There are people who don’t even know me who don’t like me, but for the most part, people think I’m pretty cool. I think I’m pretty cool, and I’ve spent the last several years trying to be the kind of friend I want to have. Am I perfect? Uh…no, but I kind of just expect people to like me. I definitely don’t go into new environments expecting people to […]

Dancing In My Living Room? Yeah, I Do That…

If you know me, you probably know that I love good fitness DVD’s. Before I was comfortable hitting the gym regularly, I exercised at home to get it done.

It’s been far too long since I had a regular exercise routine. I love how I feel once I start, but it’s hard to motivate myself to get to the gym and do it. Right now I think I need to get back to the basics. I need to move everyday, and finding a new workout DVD has inspired me to do just that.
